Renovating in Zaventem
Zaventem is in Flanders. An existing protocol or asbestattest must be checked against the actual work. Federal rules require asbestos risks to be identified before worker exposure; regional procedures and any permits are checked separately. The French term RAAT alone does not define the required Belgian document.

What changed in December 2025
The federal reform applies from 22 December 2025. It strengthens competency requirements for inventories and worker exposure prevention. For your project, check the professional’s qualifications, the affected materials and the planned method before work begins.
Preparing the right site documents in Brussels
For sites under class 1B or 1C procedures, Brussels Environment requires a signed destructive inventory of the affected areas, prepared independently of the removal contractor. A visual management inventory is insufficient for this file. Contractor approval does not replace regional site authorisation.
