FPS approval and registration are different
The approval register covers methods including glove bags and hermetically sealed areas, subject to approval scope. The simple-treatment list is based on a declaration not verified in advance by FPS Employment. Check the permitted method and credentials rather than relying on a general ‘asbestos approved’ badge.
Before accepting the assignment
Legal name, enterprise/VAT number, insurance, qualification validity and scope should be identifiable. The offer states price, included analyses, extras requiring agreement and deliverables. The Sertic form prepares these checks; it is neither an order nor a payment.
What changed in December 2025
The federal reform applies from 22 December 2025. It strengthens competency requirements for inventories and worker exposure prevention. For your project, check the professional’s qualifications, the affected materials and the planned method before work begins.
Material analysis and air monitoring are different tasks
Asbestos identification in materials falls under group 6 of the FPS Employment laboratory register. An analysis concerns the submitted sample, not automatically the entire room or building. The inventory report links results to the materials and locations inspected.
Which laboratory for fibre measurements?
Airborne asbestos fibre measurements require a different approval scope, listed in group 2. The professional determines necessary checks according to the removal method and site conditions. Check the laboratory, its approval scope and validity for the assignment.
