Must the tenant receive a certificate?

In Flanders, an existing asbestos certificate must be provided to the tenant. OVAM also mentions a 2030 measure for new leases, linked to an ongoing decree amendment. This is not a general requirement already in force today.

How should you report a suspect material?

Write to the landlord with the room, location, observed condition and any work underway. Request available reports and a response about assessing the material. Do not send a sample taken yourself. Keep correspondence and notify the building manager if the area appears shared.
