Record the address, date, observed work and affected areas. Keep available site notices. Stay outside the site, without touching materials or taking samples. A photograph from a distance does not confirm asbestos.

In Brussels
Brussels Environment provides an asbestos complaint form for pollution located or experienced in the region. Worker safety falls under FPS Employment. An apparently missing permit alone does not prove a breach: some sites do not require one.

In Flanders
Contact the local environmental supervisor, usually through the municipality or local police outside office hours. OVAM supports municipalities but cannot itself impose enforcement measures. Report unsafe work involving employees to the labour inspectorate too.
In Wallonia
To report pollution or environmental harm, call 1718 and choose option 2. Describe the location and facts for referral. This environmental service does not replace emergency services where someone is in immediate danger.
